In this lockdown period, most of us need mobile phones and laptops with internet connection for work from home and online classes. That's why mobile phones especially smartphones sales increased during this lockdown.

Using this advantage of excess demand to smartphones, almost all brands complete with each other. Also shops are selling smartphones with much higher price. 

Apart from these, scams are also increased during this period. Fraudsters using this time and fooling people.

OBJECTIVE:

In this article, we tried to give you an awareness about a recent mobile phone scam that already fooled many people.

SCAM:

Nowadays online shopping are becoming common among people, especially for buying smartphones as the price will be less when to compared to price fixed by shops.

Also we can buy smartphones just after they are launched through online as it will be first available in online.

We already know that the leading online merchants are Amazon and Flipkart. Apart from these, there are another few merchants such as eBay, Snapdeal and so on. 

But now a new merchant called Eezyphones bloomed. They are selling their exclusive brand of phones called Krypton for very low price.

You might already came across this in your YouTube wall. But they are really selling the phones. That's the scam. They have created a buzz that they are giving mobile phones with more features for less price so that people will buy them.

People after selecting a Krypton phone from the Eezyphone site, most of them will go for Cash on delivery option as it is a new online merchant. 

But in this website, you can't avail this option. They are giving a reason that cash on delivery option will be not be safe as the Covid-19 pandemic is underway. That's why people have to use other options to buy such as through credit cards, debit cards, UPI etc.

After paying money, is they are really getting the product as desired? The answer is 'No'or they rarely delivered mobiles that too of extremely low quality phones.

They simply photoshopped top brand phones' logo with their Krypton logo and started selling these fake phones.

These fraudsters are using this tough time to fool people. 

How they make people to believe that they are really selling smartphones for very low price?

They created a professional website like Amazon and Flipkart that includes fake ratings and reviews for each products as people always buy after consulting reviews when they buy products through online. 

How to find that these are fake?

Inspite of being created a professional website,  they also committed some mistakes. If we go through closely we can find out the errors. We can find many errors in their profile 'About us'. 

Also, if you watch closely the phones are exact copy of phones of top brands.

In the above image, if you watch closely this model exactly looks like Samsung M30s. They even copied that name. Look at the rating given as 5. From this we can find that the rating is fake. Also look at the reviews, all gave five stars. The reviews are also fake.

Also look at the title. It's amateur not professional. Another thing is that it's not possible to sell a phone with such good specifications for just 4,000.

Look at this, before selecting payment options, we have to give our details. They are also stealing our data.

They are urging people to buy quickly by placing a timer. Already many people ordered in this fake website and awaiting to receive their product. One thing, they will never receive the product. 

The main reason that people ordered these without cross checking is due to the low price they mentioned.

This is not the first time. Many such scams have already occurred. Still people fell in these kind of traps. 

We should be aware when we buying anything through online especially from a new website. 

Before ordering, we should cross check everything. Avoiding buying things from these kind of new websites will be better. We should not blindly order when we see such big offers.
