India fresh from the success in Border Gavaskar Trophy, is set to play the home series against Cricket England after a long time. This series imposed the beauty of Test Cricket for the young generation who are obsessed with T20 Cricket. Don't expect serious sledging in this series as it's India not Australia.

Current position of this test match

This series is equally balanced with 1-1 by team India and England. This match at Ahmadabad would be a key in deciding the series win for both teams

Cricket India

After a tremendous series win again Cricket Australia in their own den with a young team where all are legends of tomorrow. This series win is so crucial as India registered their dominance in test cricket even in the absence of legendary players, Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. Now Cricket India is back to play the real cricket in home conditions against ECB who are one of the tough competitors with legendary players, Virat Kohli, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya returning to the squad.

Cricket India has taken several positives from the recent series especially in bowling department. Currently India is having one of the best set of red ball bowlers in their cricketing history. Pace bowling department led by Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma is giving tough times for batsmen. But the crucial factor in this match is the spin bowling department as the match is happening in spin paradise, Chepauk Stadium. It's a pitch perfect for spin bowlers. Ravichandran Ashwin is expected lead the spin attack along with Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav in the first match in Chennai which is the home ground for both. Especially Washington Sundar is a great find who perfectly fits the spot of Ravindra Jadeja.

In the batting department also Cricket India has taken several positives especially the opening pair. The confusion in opening position is almost solved as young Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma played really well in the last two matches of the last series. Especially Rohit Sharma's return to test squad is great positive in home series as he has great average in home compared to overseas. Another silent hero is Cheteshwar Pujara who is literally an anchor of Indian batting lineup. His defensive playing style is key for other batsmen to play freely around him. The great question is, who will keep the wickets in the first match ? Rishabh Pant or Wridhiman Saha.

Most think that Rishabh Pant will get his spot in the playing 11 due to his heroics in batting down the order in the last series. But what is crucial is keeping wickets especially in a pitch perfect for spin bowling. Pant is not in keeping wickets against spin bowlers but Wridhiman Saha is a specialist wicket keeper. But he is not in great form with the bat. Virat Kohli revealed in the pre match press conference that Rishabh Pant will keep the wickets. He also revealed that Rohit and Gill will be opening in tests for long term. India continue their winning steak? Let’s wait and see.

ECB Cricket (England Cricket Board)

ECB is fresh with their successful sub continent series win against Sri Lanka. They seemed very comfortable in sub continent conditions with their good spin bowling provided by Dom Bess and Jack Leach. Batsmen also played spin comfortably. Is this due to England's brilliance or Sri Lanka's poor performance? This series between Cricket India and ECB will answer this question.

Another great positive for ECB is that their Captain Joe Root came back to form in the recent series against Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan spinners failed to threat him but playing  Ravi Ashwin is entirely a different equation altogether. It's intriguing to see who will take the upper hand. Swing king Jimmy Anderson is always a threat for the opposition whatever be the conditions. He continued his glorious form in the recent series too. Jofra Archer who is capable of bowling at a pace of 150 kph / 93 mph is a crucial part of ECB bowling attack as his extra pace very much important in pitch that don't offer much for pacers. Ben Stokes always loves to play in India. He is an important asset for ECB both with the bat and the ball. There are many positives in ECB side also. Will they give tough to Cricket India in this exciting series? Most probably they will.
